Where did the name come from?
In 1982, SAN FRANCISCO PUFFS & STUFF, INC.
opened its doors as a full-service, all natural bakery, specializing in “San Francisco” style sour dough bread and fried sour dough “puffs”. After only a few months, the bakery was invited to participate in a few special events.
Within a year, we became a full-service special event concessionaire and caterer.

C. Kevin Grim co-founded San Francisco Puffs & Stuff, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in March, 1982. Kevin has operated and managed every aspect of the business over the past 30 years plus. Kevin, along with a small army, erected, managed and operated all the food service for the 1987 Papal Visit to Miami (anticipated attendance in one day of 500,000 ); which included massive planning with the Secret Service, the Archdiocese of Miami and the City of Miami. Kevin is actively involved with event planning, execution, equipment procurement and maintenance. Kevin is the financial planner for San Francisco Puffs & Stuff, Inc.
SHARON S. SHORTT, Vice-President
Sharon S. Shortt co-founded San Francisco Puffs & Stuff, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in March, 1982. The company first opened an “all natural bakery” which retailed San Francisco-style sourdough bread, along with a large variety of breads, cakes and pastries for wholesale and retail. Sharon was the master baker along with managing the retail on a daily basis. After eight months, the company became involved in special events catering. Sharon is involved with every aspect of the catering; from planning and executing menus to organizing production and laying out floor plans for efficient service. Over the past 30 plus years, Sharon has managed events such as: The 1987 Papal Visit (anticipated attendance in one day of 500,000); catered for celebrities including Frank Sinatra and worked in food service for air force bases across the nation. Sharon specializes in events from 5,000 to 4.1 million (published crowd estimates of the Fort Lauderdale Air & Sea Show 1996 to 2007). Sharon has been featured in several newspaper articles and in Air Shows Magazine. San Francisco Puffs & Stuff was featured on the television show “Food Unwrapped” in 2006.
KENNETH M. SHORTT, Partner
Ken Shortt has been with San Francisco Puffs & Stuff, Inc. for over 20 years. He has been a partner in the company for the past eight years. Ken is responsible for all operations of San Francisco Puffs & Stuff; including but not limited to, purchasing, set up, production, transporting and food production and food servicing. Ken is responsible for training and supervising all personnel. Over the past 20 years plus, Ken has managed events; such as: the Fort Lauderdale Air & Sea Show, (published 4.1 million patrons), along with air shows and events nationwide, including all set up and tear down of food service lines; which includes setting up all food production and serving lines, serving 50,000 to 300,000 in a two-day period and tearing down all food service lines and equipment, completely, on the same day the event closes. Ken is the first responder for our emergency kitchens; his experience in planning, procuring supplies, executing deployment and activating our emergency kitchens is second to none.
